Kuwait City- Yesterday I went by taxi, foot, and bus from Basra to here in Kuwait City in my bid to explore the Middle East’s newly liberalising visa/border policies on the ground. I wanted to compare this crossing with that of the Jordan one I had passed through a few weeks ago. The two experiences were absolutely nothing alike. Crossing into still troubled al-Anbar governorate from Jordan was tense and had a decent degree of uncertainty. Crossing into Jahra governorate in northern Kuwait was so safe it was boring by comparison.
