A Passage to Arabia Begins

Beirut- I’ve finally got my first (official video up on my new Fabled City Youtube channel. I set up the channel before I left NYC but didn’t fully realise how much work it was going to be. And I at first I was moving to0 fast to get to the story on Cyprus to slow down to figure this all out. And once I did I got so steeped in Cypriot politics in terms of writing and even shooting a few very low key photos that I didn’t have enough time. Essentially I left NYC with the tools I need but without the know-how to use them to even close to their technological potential to put it mildly.

But I also wouldn’t have been motivated to purchase the GoPro I’m now using (and still haven’t fully gotten the hang of tech-wise or socially-wise) or do a massive operating system upgrade if I hadn’t left home. So now my Fabled City channel is officially going albeit mismatched timing-wise with my site here. So now I’m in Beirut and haven’t started on the mini Athens video. My thinking is once I get a workflow down I can start cranking thee edits out progressively faster.

This initiial offering is also missing a chunk of the footage because at one point in my haste I was shooting stills instead of video unknowingly owing to how sensitive the rear touchscreen is on this tiny gizmo. But in any new endeavour there are going to be plenty of mistakes. As the saying goes you have to start somewhere. This is hopefully the early stage of a decently long journey.

This is where I begin.
